Alana Bond - Head of Sustainable Development
Alana Bond is a founding member of Bravura
and currently serves as its Head of division. She has a decade of consulting experience, is a subject matter expert on BEE and transformation, is frequently quoted in the press
regarding transformation and sustainable development topics and has been invited to speak at several conferences
and Parliament on the topic.
Prior to joining Bravura, she lived and worked in London before spending several years at the Johannesburg office of the international management consulting company, Accenture.
Since working at Bravura, Alana has been extensively involved in a wide variety of strategic
transformation and sustainable development projects, both in
South Africa and internationally, including:

Developing policies and procedures, frameworks, global strategies and implementation programmes for
Local Procurement, which focuses on the participation of businesses within the mining communities in the mine’s supply chain

Researching global best practice in
Supplier Development and developing a global framework to develop suppliers
-
Identifying key implications of the change in government’s
Preferential Procurement Regulations, how businesses could use BEE to their strategic advantage, what the legislation’s short-comings were, and making recommendations to Government
-
Developing efficient and value-adding transformational strategies for Ownership, Employment Equity, Skills Development, Socio-economic Development (SED), Enterprise Development (ED) and Preferential Procurement for large local and multinational companies

Developing detailed thinking on Enterprise Development strategies, including linking ED to a company’s business and procurement strategies, financing strategies, implementing an Enterprise Development programme/fund and linking ED to Local Economic Development

Evaluating complex Ownership structures for numerous clients and has provided recommendations on changes needed to meet the requirements of the Codes
-
Developing Ownership strategies linked to business requirements for SA corporates and foreign multinationals, involving value-adding partners, employee share ownership schemes, and ED/SED funds to create sustainability
Alana is committed to
meaningful and sustainable transformation in South Africa and she is passionate about the upliftment of everyday people. As part of this commitment, she
serves on the board of the Phakamani Foundation, an organisation operating in Mpumalanga and providing black women with the capital and guidance to assist them to get themselves out of poverty.
She was recently a
winner in the Leaders of Tomorrow category of the CEO's
Magazine, SA's Most Influential Women in Business and
Government awards.
Alana obtained a Business Science degree from the University of Cape Town, with majors in Accounts and Finance and Honours in Finance.

Lana Lovasic - Senior Consultant
Lana Lovasic is a Senior Consultant at
Bravura. She recently joined Bravura after
spending a year in rural South Africa working on economic
development and socio-economic project support, as well as
helping develop Corporate Social Investment strategies. She
first came to South Africa as part of a microfinance
internship in order to complete her specialised MBA, which
focused on social entrepreneurship, corporate social
responsibility and management of international and
non-government organisations.
In addition to her most recent work in business and development, Lana
has a varied international experience in education policy
and management,
financial services and behavioural research.
She has lived in Croatia, Canada, Japan, Switzerland and now
South Africa.
During her time at Bravura, Lana has worked for several high
profile companies in a range of projects including:

Analysis of the
supply and reputational risks of South African land
reform policies for a major international company

Investigating
and developing innovative models of supplier development
for the mining sector, especially as concerns the
‘supplier park’ concept and business incubation

Research on the
Mineral and Petroleum Resources Development Act (MPRDA),
the Mining Charter and Social and Labour Plans

As a result of her
diverse international work experience, Lana has

Ledile Shadung - Consultant
Ledile Shadung is a Consultant at
Bravura. She joined Bravura recently after having
spent over three years at Credit Suisse Standard Securities
(CSSS) in different fields within the business.
During her time at Bravura Ledile has been involved in both undertaking
research and developing BEE and sustainable development
strategies for a number of clients across a range of
sectors. Her work can be summarised in the following way:

Anglo Platinum –
documenting transaction structures, BEE partner
structures, gathering information to calculate and
verify the BEE status of sale of assets partners and
other related ownership work

Royal Bafokeng
Holdings – assisting with status report and score
improvement as well as facilitating verification

Sugar industry –
researching the South African land claims legislation
and undertaking a risk analysis for the client

Pepkor Holdings
– assisting with the skills development strategy and
employment equity work

Bell Equipment
Sales South Africa – score improvement and
verification
facilitation

Shaft Sinkers -
calculation of score, building and documenting different
strategies applicable to the company
Other clients she
has worked with include Wiehahn, Vanguard, Brunswick,
Microsep, and a construction company
establishing a presence in South Africa.
Prior to joining CSSS, Ledile participated in Standard Bank’s Banking
Group Program, while studying for her degree.
Ledile is passionate about giving back to the community. She is one of
the founders of Senakangwedi Career Guidance and
Development Initiative (SCGDI) where she holds position
of General Secretary. SCGDI is a non-profit organisation
that strives to uplift the level of education in rural
schools through information sharing and increasing
learners’ practical exposure in their relevant fields of
study.
Ledile is a Masters student in Financial Management at the University of
Johannesburg (UJ). She obtained an Honours degree at UJ
and a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Accounting from The
University of Witwatersrand.

Sandra Makuchete - Consultant
Sandra Makuchete has recently joined
Bravura as a part time Consultant. She has had
vast experience in the broad based BEE field, having worked
as a BEE expert for almost 5 years now.
Before joining Bravura, Sandra worked as a Senior Consultant at
Transcend Corporate Advisors where she began her journey in
broad based BEE. She later joined the BEESA Group, and then
temporarily joined one of the Imperial Group companies as a
Transformation Coordinator.
During her time at Bravura, Sandra has worked on client projects for
Anglo American and Invicta. The projects included:

model development for the proposed supplier park for

Xolile Rubushe - Analyst
Xolile Rubushe is an Analyst at Bravura. He joined Bravura after spending one
year involved with various business activities, including
business consulting for SMEs and projects in the
transportation and construction sectors.
While following his business interests he played a significant role in
promoting black enterprises to do work for various
parastatals, His passion for Black Economic Empowerment has
continued to develop from here, culminating in his decision
to pursue this passion at Bravura.
In his time spent at Bravura, he has worked extensively on
research projects and BEE verification preparations, as well
as projects which have developed his data analysis and
evaluation skills.
Xolile’s projects during the course of this time with Bravura include:

Xolile obtained a
Bachelor of Commerce degree in Accounting from The
University of Johannesburg. During his student years, he
